A dewormer (also called anthelmintic medication) is a drug given to animals to kill parasites. It can be a powder to be mixed into food, a pill or chewable tablet, or a liquid drench given orally.
The worm medicine fenbendazole has shown some promise as a cancer treatment. But more research is needed.
- Fenbendazole
Fenbendazole, an antihelmintic drug used to treat parasitic worms in pets and livestock, has been repurposed as a cancer treatment, with some patients reporting it as a miracle cure. This repurposing has opened the door for other anthelmintics to be considered as potential cancer treatments.
The drug works by interfering with the formation of microtubules, a protein scaffold that gives cells their shape and structure. Cells use these structures to assemble and disassemble as needed, and they serve as highways for transporting organelles and cargo.
The study also found that high doses of fenbendazole reduced the survival of EMT6 cancer cells in vitro, as measured by a colony-formation assay. These results indicate that the drug may have cytotoxic as well as cytostatic activity against these tumor cells. Moreover, it does not require the p53 gene for achieving these effects. Using this information, researchers are now developing first-generation cytotoxic drugs that mimic the action of fenbendazole.
- Curcumin
Curcumin has immunomodulatory properties, which can regulate cell signaling and suppress the proliferation of cancer cells. It inhibits inflammatory mediators such as cytokines, chemokines, adhesion molecules, and enzymes like COX-2 and inducible nitric oxide synthase. It also reduces the secretion of pro-inflammatory proteins by monocytes and dendritic cells. It also alleviates neuro-inflammation in a mouse model of traumatic brain injury by reducing macrophage and microglial activation. In addition, it can inhibit NF-kB (nuclear factor kappa B) and STAT3 (signal transducer and activator of transcription) pathways. It can also suppress the growth of cancer stem cells, which are responsible for new tumor formation and resistance to chemotherapy.
In several lab studies, curcumin has been shown to inhibit the development of precancerous conditions such as monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance and smoldering multiple myeloma. It has been found to suppress the growth of these cells by influencing their epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) alterations. It can also inhibit the development of pulmonary tumors by suppressing the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor A165 in lung carcinoma cells.
- CBD Oil
Fenbendazole is a prescription drug used to treat parasitic worms. It’s also an effective anti-inflammatory and immune system booster. It may cause stomach pain, nausea and diarrhea. If these side effects persist, consult a doctor.

Fenbendazole is in a class of drugs called benzimidazoles (I coined the word fenBen). It’s been used as an anti-worm medication for decades. It has been shown to kill cancer cells in petri dishes and mice.
When added to fenbendazole, Vitamin E makes the drug more effective. It boosts the production of p53, which is a gene that can keep cancer cells in check. It halts the activation of Akt, a protein that keeps cancer cells alive by allowing them to metabolize sugar.
It’s also a powerful antioxidant. Dietary supplements typically provide alpha-tocopherol, but products that contain tocotrienols and gamma-tocotrienols can be more potent. According to several national surveys, most people do not get enough of the vitamin in their diets. The Vitamin E in fortified foods is often esterified to prolong its shelf life, but the body hydrolyzes and absorbs the pure form of the compound.
